At the beginning of our soap-making days we did not know where to begin. It took us months to
research the art of making soap. After numerous unsuccessful batches that ended in the garbage, we finally created beautiful soap. We initially feared the use of lye, but when all precautions were used everything went as planned. We take pride in sharing our experience in making not only cold soap but glycerin soap. The making of glycerin soap can be a safe family or school activity. All soapmakers are welcome to submit their original recipes and we would be honored to share them with the world.

Recipe #1 - Colored glycerin soap

1 cup glycerin soap base
1-2 drops of liquid food coloring

Melt glycerin on your stove in double boiler or in microwave. Then add
fragrance or color and pour into mold. Then let it cool. After it's hard
cut it with cookie cutter. Use your imagination. This recipe is easy and
fun.

Recipe #2 - Basic bath salt

1/2 cup epsom salt
1/2 cup baking soda
1/3 cup citric acid
coloring
fragrance or essential oil

Mix dry ingredients together thoroughly. Add coloring and mix well until
everything is evenly distributed. Add essential oil and let dry.

Recipe #3 - Brown sugar scrub

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. glycerin
1 tsp. vitamin E
1/2 tsp tea tree oil

Mix together and put it in an airtight container.
